Bill Hilts, Jr.: ‘Deer Doctor’ tips for hunting the whitetail rut in New York

Peter Fiduccia, of Gilbertsville, in Otsego County, N.Y., is the “deer doctor” of New York State.
The long-time host of Woods and Water television show has been a good friend for the better part of four decades and when it comes to all things deer, he is the person I turn to for advice and insight for chasing whitetails. Of course, like most outdoor activities, timing is everything. The time is now if you are looking to take advantage of that magical time simply referred to as “The Rut.”
“In New York, the rut happens during October, November and December,” insists Fiduccia. “Each month brings about different levels of buck activity.
