Outdoor Observations: Here’s hoping common sense prevails in CDC regulation on importing dogs

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) created a new dog import regulation that took effect August 1. Delta reservoirs provide decent bass fishing in Fulton County, Ohio

Relatively small at 39 and 50 acres, respectively, Delta Reservoirs No. 1 and No. 2 serve as an outlet for nearby Toledo anglers traveling just west of the metropolitan area.

Despite all the world’s “progress,” there’s still something special about the local bait shop

At some point, I suppose many people look back on their childhood and think, I didn’t know it at the time, but I had it pretty good.

We didn’t live in the country, per se, but the bike ride into town was a couple of miles or so, and it was essentially a straight shot from our house to the corner market that sold the selection of candy you dreamed about. I was a fool for fishing, too, and if you disobeyed your parents just enough to hook a right at the corner store and pedal another quarter mile or so down the street, you’d wind up at a bait shop.
