A new Illinois law that went into effect Jan. 1 allows residents to obtain a hunting, fishing, trapping or sportsmen’s combination license that is good for three years.
State Rep. Harry Benton, D-Plainfield, filed House Bill 3677 last February. It initially called for a 5-year fishing license.
