Analysis of 2023 Illinois youth turkey season points to ups and downs in top harvest counties

During the recently-completed hunt, which covered two weekends, youth hunters harvested a total of 1,309 birds. That was up slightly from 2022, when 1,258 turkeys were taken. The record total was set in 2020, when 1,733 turkeys were harvested.
All told, over the past five years, youth hunters have averaged a harvest of 1,398 turkeys.
