Turkey take, license sales start slowly during Minnesota’s 2023 spring season

The spring wild turkey-hunting season has entered season C, the third hunt period, and harvest and license sales have decreased compared to last year’s totals. It’s too early to tell, but Tim Lyons, Minnesota DNR upland game research scientist, said he believes this year will compare to 2022 and signifies a “new normal.”

Dirty stream water need not cloud your trout fishing plans

The makeshift gravel parking area near the trout stream in western Wisconsin already had two cars idling in it, and another had just sped off.

B.A.S.S. names ’23 Bassmaster high school all-staters, including two Minnesotans

Fifty-two outstanding high school anglers from across the country have been named to the 2023 Bassmaster High School All-State Fishing Team presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.
Minnesotans on that list include Katherine Wedes, of Excelsior, and Noah Wells, of Esko. Jaydon Manteufel, of Fergus Falls, and Jonathan Waschek, of Apple Valley, received honorable mention.
