Two special deer hunts scheduled in fight against CWD. This year, the hunts are expanding geographically.
DNR will enact a new two-year ban on baiting and feeding in Ozaukee County and renew a three-year baiting and feeding ban in Washington County.
I hate seeing deer season end. Some years, including this one, I’m physically ready for it as I’ve logged close to 70 miles on my aging legs traipsing through the Adirondacks throughout the course of this season. But mentally, I am never prepared. Part of it is the season. I don’t despise winter, as some

Because of power plant and warm-water discharge, the fish tend to be much more active than they would otherwise be. This year, both reactors have been operating, which will keep the temperature around 36 degrees.
Overall, fishing reports have not been outstanding, but some walleyes and panfish are being caught. The best action is taking place early and late each day and expect everything to improve as ice conditions do.
