The Beaverkill and Willowemoc were low and warm last week. Fishing would only be recommended early in the morning. The Horton section of the Beaverkill is closed through Aug. 31 to protect trout from thermal stress. The East Branch of the Delaware had good water temps but is low. Some midges and a few Sulphurs are about in the morning while late-day spinners, Sulphurs and a few Caddis are also being seen. Terrestrials are a good choice. On the West Branch, at last check the water was both wadeable and floatable. Sulphurs continued to be the main hatch. Fish can get very picky, however. Some Caddis are also about mixed with Olives on cloudy days. The Neversink was at its normal summer flow and was fishable to about Bridgeville. The Main Stem was also wadeable and floatable, but water temps have become an issue above Buckingham. The Esopus was fishable.
