Panfish and bass are hitting on the shorelines of Cedar Lake, French Lake is giving up crappies in 12 to 16 feet and sunfish in four feet, and Lake Mazaska is good for crappies in 15 feet. On Shields Lake, leeches and jigs are turning walleyes on 10- to 14-foot weedlines. There’s an evening walleye bite with jigs and plastics at the Cannon Lake bridge.

Crappies and northern pike are hitting minnows near Hatch Bridge and along the bay before the bridge at Fountain Lake. The cemetery area of Fountain is a safe bet for sunfish in shallow water. Work the channel with Twisters and jigs at Albert Lea Lake for walleyes during low-light periods.
