And the bluegill catch rate also was above average when compared to other similar lakes.

Many reports indicating that quite a few walleye being caught in shallower water – less than 10 feet in many areas, despite the warm waters of summer.

And looking at the map, anglers will see Somo Lake sets up a little differently than most lakes, due in part to the fact it’s an impoundment on a river system.

Fishing floats, it seems, are hot spots for dozens of fish species, and big ones, too.

Targeting bluegills – and getting some nice ones – as summer heat continues.
