The panfish spawn is in varying phases, wrapped up in the south, ongoing in central Wisconsin, and just starting in the north.

Of the walleyes handled by a DNR team, 93% were 15 inches or longer. Another 37% were 20 inches or longer. The biggest walleye came in at about 26 inches.

Muskie season in northern Wisconsin opens Saturday, May 28. With water temps still on the cool side, stick to smaller baits and shallower depths.
