Now anglers can keep one fish over 20 inches, instead of one over 17.
No adult zebra mussels have been identified. Eight veligers were found in a zooplankton sample taken in the middle of Upper Red Lake.
The same regulation has been in place since the May 2017 fishing opener.
But adjustments to size or bag limits may be needed in the future if the spawning stock needs more protection.

They’ll be able to keep four walleyes — up one from last spring and winter, with one longer than 17 inches still allowed in the mix.
