Lots of good fishing happening in recent weeks. Here’s what’s biting, and where.

Both are thriving in terms of total numbers and trophy specimens. And both have loyal followings.

The catfishing bite – among other species – is heating up at night.

The park section offers a good mix of both stocked and native fish, but as one might imagine, the fishing pressure it receives can be high.

Bass fishing seemed to pick up in many lakes after they cleared following Hurricane Ida.

Bass – both largemouth and smallmouth – are a highlight for anglers these days.

Largemouths during these milder September days will crash the shorelines in their unending search for an easy meal. You find them hanging inches from the bank, scattered in pad fields and on the outer edge

Largemouth bass are the star at Oneida these days. It’s been a steady climb to the top, too, as surveys done in 2010, 2015 and 2020 reveal.

Fishing was a bit slow in recent weeks, but there were some exceptions.
