The fishing outlook for Lake Erie continues to show boating anglers catching limits of walleyes in the Western Basin through the Central Basin all the way to Cleveland. On inland lakes, anglers are doing well

While both lakes support walleyes, panfish, bass, and northern pike, there are some differences between the two Lidas. Knowing what to look for and expect from each lake will tip the odds in your favor

With the last weekend of the inland walleye and northern pike season upon us, most reports indicate pretty consistent northern pike activity in relatively shallow water. Walleyes have been a bit more sluggish, but remaining

With ice starting to gain a foothold across the state, fishing access/action is starting to pick up, too.

With its stained water and current, Old Abe “fishes well” during the day. There is not a lot of backwater habitat, nor a lot of vegetation. Fish rocks, wood, and current breaks.

The most successful walleye anglers also seem to be downsizing their baits, implementing jigging baits and tip-ups, and staying on the move. Panfish reports have been a bit off as well.

Instead of killing pike, anglers are asked to report, release tagged northerns caught in the lake.

Walleyes are sluggish in most locations, providing short windows of feeding activity during low-light periods of the day – typical for this time of year.
