The walleye bite on Lake Erie continues its strong run with anglers in both the Western and Central Basins producing quick limits. On inland lakes, anglers are starting to turn some saugeyes, and they’re also

Walleye fishing has been extra good on a number of waters the last few weeks.

One highlight is its crappies. They are probably the most sought-after species in the lake.

Bluegill are starting to spawn in many lakes and ponds across the state. And with water temperatures now well into the 70s, the bite is both turning on and slowing, depending on the targeted species.

Horseshoe holds an abundance of walleyes, panfish, bass, and northern pike, as well as most river-inhabiting species such as channel catfish. The introduction of muskies in 2011 will likely make it a destination lake for

Anglers were dealt several warm and windy days over the past week, but fishing continues to be pretty good when they get out.

Water temperatures mean everything to the trout angler, or at least those who care enough about the species they covet so much that they’ll back off when conditions are not favorable for optimal fish survival.

With water temperatures and water clarity increasing at a number of fisheries across the state, the bite is clearly improving, too, at a number of these fishing spots.

The bait shops have been busy with high numbers of anglers getting out and experiencing really good fishing.
