On Lake Erie, anglers were catching walleye around Stony Point.
Fair weather anglers generally target panfish, bass, and walleye, while in the spring and fall a small but dedicated contingent of anglers shows up at the lake to match wits with steelhead and brown trout.
Fishing pressure has been light, but for the few die-hards still getting out some of the best fishing of the year has been happening.

Fishing has been good, although pressure has been low. But still catching steelheads on the rivers and walleye on Erie, and the perch bite remains hot on Lake St. Clair.
On Lake St. Clair, yellow perch action was good all over the lake.
Browns were exceptional throughout the late 1980s and 1990s. Since 2000, brown trout fishing has experienced a sharp decline.
The few anglers still getting out are finding a very good perch bite in Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay.
