South Dakota Fishing Report – August 12, 2026 – video
The number of good walleyes being caught has definitely decreased because of the heat, but hopefully, expected cooler temps will improve the bite.

Open-water fishing is here and the fish (crappies) are biting. Here’s a breakdown on the current conditions and what’s working.

The word of the day in Ohio fishing circles is flooded with many of the state’s lakes and reservoirs spilling over their banks. Lake Erie walleye fishing, though, is going gangbusters, including the walleye spawning

These three presentations will catch fish in water anywhere from 1 to 10 feet when those walleyes have moved up to spawn or as they transition back out.

River walleye fishing in the early spring can be a very touchy bite. These baits and lures should give you a great starting point when the water is still cold and the fish are in

The water temps are still rather cold and that has slowed the bite in some areas. The Missouri River continues to do well around the Chamberlain and Fort Thompson areas.

The scoop on location and crappie setups.

Check out the super-hot perch bite here – but tread lightly as the ice here is starting to deteriorate. And the walleyes are turning on here.

Three options I’ve done well with recently and the progression on how/when I use them.

Had the boat in the water a bit this past week and it felt good. Cold weather returned (and looks to be lingering) so we will see how this next week goes.
