The number of good walleyes being caught has definitely decreased because of the heat, but hopefully, expected cooler temps will improve the bite.
The main thing to take away from this past week is that water temps have dropped, so maybe go back to those springtime presentations.
We certainly had to adapt a bit but I honestly like the redirection.
The stable warm weather definitely caused the big bug hatch to continue throughout the past week and that affected fishing success.
A lot is going on and the fish are snapping.
Fishing is starting to take off – bass fishing is real hot right now.
Inland waters are receding after heavy rain over the past two weeks, leading to a good bite for crappies and saugeyes. Lake Erie walleye fishing is going strong as it does most days.
Catching a lot of fish, with a lot of the same expected in the near future. Here’s where they’re catching ’em and what they’re catching ’em on.
The fish are snapping. Bobbers with leeches the go-to setup.
Water temps in the upper 50s tell us the walleye spawn is pretty much over, just as the weather has become more stable. Another issue to deal with has been the bug hatch.
