As we near the end of August, the fishing on Devils Lake still remains strong. Trolling with bottoms bouncers or pulling cranks seem to be the best ticket when looking to boat walleyes.

The walleye bite on Devils Lake is hot – lots of fish in that 15- to 18-inch range. Pulling bottom bouncers with spinners will help put fish in the boat.

Bottom bouncers and spinners seem to be the most effective way of boating walleyes right now as we move into the mid- to late-summer walleye bite.

Stable weather has created a very good walleye bite throughout Devils Lake the last few weeks. Water temps are hovering in the low 70s and fish have transitioned a little deeper.
