Anglers, you can probably still get a boat in lakes across the southern half of the state.

If the weather allows, river fishing would be the best option to put catch a few late season walleyes.

While it sounds as if most anglers have already put their boats in storage, those that kept them out should have a pretty good week of walleye and muskie fishing.

With warmer weather expected to arrive this week, anglers who kept their boats out should have at least one more week of open water fishing opportunities.

In final report of the open-water season, water temps continue to drop and the fish are still biting – you just need to slow down at times and trigger the impulse bite.

With a significant cold spell expected to arrive this week, water temperatures should continue to cool down and that should provide even better fall walleye activity.

Shallow patterns are prominent now, making for a more versatile bite, no matter your fishing ability and limitations. Water temps remain consistent but will be dropping again this next week.
