Walleye bite is getting tougher, but here’s how – and where – to catch ’em. And how about the bass?

The walleye bite in particular remains strong across the big lake.

There was a definite improvement in muskie activity in most areas during the past week and they should only continue to get more active as water temperatures continue to climb.

Summer patterns and schooling fish a solid theme right now. And check out these crappie/bluegill tactics.

For panfish, the fishing is a bit behind schedule. But that could change quickly.

Mayfly hatches continue to limit walleye success on many of the state’s bigger bodies of water, but for early July, the bite is still going pretty strong in most areas.

In addition to walleyes and saugers, jumbo perch pike, smallmouth bass and even an occasional muskie, crappie or sturgeon are being caught.

Fishing patterns continue to point in the summer/deeper direction. They are schooling up and putting on the feedbags. Several presentations are working, including some flipping/pitching.
