The summer patterns are here. Here’s what that means for the fishing. And on Lake Michigan, fishing for silver fish has been excellent.

Fishing for silver fish had been excellent on Lake Michigan. Some very nice coho have been caught recently, with spoons and flasher/flies being the dominant presentations. Every port has had good fishing recently.

Each spring Northern Pike migrate up the Kankakee River finding places to spawn. The fish are looking for warming backwaters with newly emerging vegetation. These movements are tied to rising river height and water temperature.
