Some anglers report they are catching good numbers of walleyes in places.

This time of year, steelhead fishing seems to pick up in the tributaries near Erie.

On inland waters, skim ice was forming on a lot of central and northern Ohio waters. But, when anglers have been able to get out, they’re catching saugeyes and crappies with some regularity.

Open areas still yielding some fish. And the ice? It’s starting to creep over most fisheries, but mostly unsafe.

Think safety on the ice: Dealing with variable ice conditions and the need to use common sense.

Anglers report a few brown trout hook ups in this area, with steelhead hookups possibly coming on stronger.

Some resorts are making the prediction of Dec. 10 for day houses being out, give or take.

There’s ice to walk on, but not much more than there was a week ago.
