World Shooting Complex in Sparta seeking a new site superintendent

Bolinski said this position is separate from the complex executive director role, which was filled a little over a year ago and has been occupied by Skip Klinger. While Klinger oversees shooting sports and other events at the facility, the site superintendent will be the complex caretaker the same as any other state park in Illinois has.

The new executive director of the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta is one who not only has extensive experience in shooting sports, but also has experience in operating large shooting facilities.

World Shooting Complex lease extended through 2036, keeping big trapshooting championships in southern Illinois

Some of the uncertainty surrounding the state-owned World Shooting Complex was cleared Jan. 30 when the Amateur Trapshooting Association and DNR finalized an extension of the ATA’s lease with the facility.
In effect, the WSC will host the Grand American and AIM Youth Trapshooting Championships through 2036.
