Whitetail season, even the opener of the archery season, is months away. Now is the time for ice fishing, shed hunting, and, soon enough, turkey scouting. There’s also the opportunity to figure out last year’s buck movements, and to make some plans for this year.
While winter scouting is often talked about, it seems as though most hunters don’t really appreciate the value of putting on some miles in February and March. That’s a shame, because what you can learn now will serve you well this season – and possibly for several seasons to come.
