New York’s Sara-Spa State Park moving forward with bowhunting to control deer herd
More than 30 people turned out for a May 14 meeting at Saratoga-Spa State Park to hear and discuss a proposal to allow bowhunting on over 600 acres of parkland this fall.
Park officials and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation have determined that white-tailed deer are over-browsing many areas of the park and that the proposal is a “good start” to addressing the situation.
