Pro Hunting Tip of the Week: Keep the phones in the pocket this bear season

Tags are hard to come by in the Minnesota quota zones, so sit back and relax, and be sure to take your time in the woods.

A blaring ringer has saved many a bear’s hide since smartphones have become popular. It’s even cost me a shot at a bear once. As a guide for over 20 years, I’ve seen the advance from pocket games to smartphones. My advice to my hunters is to turn them on silent and put them away.
