‘Outstanding’ volunteers from across Illinois get nod from DNR

The McLean County Sportsmen’s Association, which regularly hosts fishing derbies, hunts, tournaments and safety education courses for youths, was selected as one of the Illinois DNR outstanding volunteers of the year. (Photo provided)

Six individuals and one organization have been selected as 2026 outstanding volunteers of the year for their contributions to conservation on behalf of DNR.
“DNR is grateful to have dedicated volunteers and support groups that bolster Illinois state parks, historic sites, and museums,” interim Director Renee Snow said.
