Times have changed. Many hunters hold a year-round focus on deer and turkey hunting, often ignoring the small game seasons that once defined tradition.
Squirrels are still an excellent way to introduce new hunters. Seeking a limit will shore up your scouting, stalking, and shooting skills in short order. One of the earlier seasons to open, it may seem too simple to try. Special equipment is not needed. Nor is concern about every little sound or worry about which way the wind blows.
