Solar project approved near New York’s Washington County Wildlife Management Area

New York’s Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission recently approved a large-scale solar project near the Washington County Grasslands Wildlife Management Area in Fort Edward. (Photo by Dan Ladd)

In May, the New York State Department of Public Service announced that the Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission (ORES) had issued a final siting permit to Boralex LLC for the Fort Edward Solar Project in the Town of Fort Edward, Washington County.
The project had come under scrutiny due to it’s location near the Washington County Grasslands Wildlife Management Area.
