In the end, the more than 59,000 turkey hunters who went after gobblers this spring topped the harvest record that was set last year. They did that by taking about 16,880 turkeys as of Tuesday, June 3, according to the Minnesota DNR.
DNR Migratory Gamebird Consultant Nate Huck said Tuesday that it’s likely a few more harvested birds will be registered in coming days and weeks to ultimately reach the final harvest tally – somewhere in the 16,900s, which surpasses the 2024 spring season’s record of 16,714.
