The end of May marked the end of an era in Ohio’s deer management circles.
Mike Tonkovich was the ODNR Division of Wildlife’s deer program administrator until the end of May. Then he retired, taking with him nearly 30 years of experience trying to manage Ohio’s deer herd for the sportsmen and women of the state. That’s who he worked for essentially, you and me.
