Located in Polk County, Maple Lake is the westernmost lake with any real significant fishing opportunities in northwest Minnesota’s Red River Valley. There are a few options in these parts; Union Lake and Lake Sarah to its south are viable, but then there’s just a smattering of small water bodies that just don’t offer anglers a whole heck of a lot.
