It’s that time of year again, where fawns suddenly appear all over. You might stumble across a newborn lying in the grass at the edge of your yard, or see a doe with a couple youngsters in tow.
Up here in the north country, the fawn drop happens in a condensed window, which is not an accident. It’s one of nature’s methods of ensuring that at least some youngsters escape the danger long enough to have a good shot at making it to adulthood.
