Nine-year-old Luella Malone has made it into the Minnesota record books by harvesting the state’s No. 3 overall turkey. The bird scored 90.88, five points above fourth place and one point behind second.
Luella harvested the turkey April 19, and a local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation verified the score on April 23. Scoring is based on weight, beard length, and spur length.
