I have loved spring turkey hunting ever since I started with my dad in upstate New York in 1975. It was all pretty new back then and we learned it together.
I can’t say that I have been consistently successful in bagging a bird, but I love being in the woods in the springtime. Turkey hunting led directly to bird watching. You don’t always encounter turkeys, but you always hear songbirds.
