Pennsylvania lawmakers propose hunter education course in schools

The planned legislation would have the Pennsylvania Department of Education work in consultation with the Pennsylvania Game Commission to develop an age-appropriate hunting and trapping education program. (File photo by Dan Ladd)

A state senator and a state representative are proposing that Hunter-Trapper Education Course opportunities be made available in schools across Pennsylvania.
Sen. James Malone, a Democrat from Lancaster County and minority chair of the Senate Game and Fisheries Committee, and Rep. Anita Astorino Kulik, a Democrat from Allegheny County and chair of the House Game and Fisheries Committee, are partnering on the legislation.
