As the 2025 archery deer season neared its Dec. 31 end, Minnesota almost had its final tally on chronic wasting disease from the hunting season.
During the late-CWD hunt from Friday, Dec. 19, to Sunday, Dec. 21, hunters harvested about 1,074 deer, which is about 24% higher than last year’s harvest of 869 deer. The 2025 season was just shy of doubling the 2023 late-CWD hunt when hunters harvested about 571 deer.
