Minnesota’s Outdoor Heritage Council names next executive director

Kristina Smitten will serve as the executive director of Minnesota's Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council after the council approved Smitten to take over in the role with an 8-4 vote.

During the Nov. 12 Minnesota Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council meeting, members approved a new executive director, Kristina Smitten, to take over the role that Mark Johnson has held for more than a decade.
While Smitten was selected, there was not unanimous approval among council members, citing both her candidacy and how it was decided to have only one interviewee meet with the entire council at a public meeting.
