While late-season warm weather wasn’t helpful for walleye stocking or early archery harvest, it sure helped out during the final few days of the black bear season this year.
“If I could have the perfect bear-hunting weather, it would be 80 degrees, sunny, with like a 5- to 8-mile an hour wind,” said bear-hunting guide and owner of Fall River Outfitters, James Wallner.
And Mother Nature delivered with a spell of warmth the first week of October.
