Ohio’s Outdoor Trailblazers: Sally Biancone fosters a passion through photos

After a 28-year career with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, Sally Biancone still likes to hunt deer and turkeys on her Athens County farm. But, these days she’d almost rather shoot with a camera than a gun. (Photo courtesy Sally Biancone)

Surveying all that surrounds her on her Athens County, Ohio, property, Sally Biancone can’t help but think about what brought her here.
A talented photographer of all things wild, Biancone first picked up a camera at the age of 15.
“I used a little Instamatic camera and I was always taking pictures of family outings and fishing and camping,” she said. “Then, I started going on big-game hunts with my husband, Steve, with my camera.”
