News in the past few weeks has included an announcement that I have been selected to the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame, in part for my work as a fish biologist, but additionally for the efforts outside of my day job.
Having had some time to really stew on this now, I can say with 100% certainty that I really didn’t do anything different than the people who were my examples of what is expected when you are granted the responsibility of taking care of your corner of the world. Therefore, I would like to tell you a little bit about the people that influenced and shaped how I approach the outdoors because much came from them even when it was just the little things that made the difference.
