Public meeting start of “digging in” to learn more about Minnesota’s elk

Goals of the Sept. 10 meeting in Thief River Falls were to offer an update about the northwest elk herd, garner feedback from community members, and talk about an upcoming research project. (Stock photo)

“This was just the first of many upcoming public meetings. … We’re going to be really digging in more to some of these issues we’re having, particularly with depredation issues and how to look for solutions,” said Kelsie LaSharr, the DNR elk coordinator.
