Minnesota’s newest Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council member is Suzanne Baird

Suzanne Baird is the newest member of the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council as Gov. Tim Walz appointed her on March 29. Baird has a long career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and has a passion for natural resources and conservation across Minnesota. (Photo courtesy of Suzanne Baird)

Gov. Tim Walz announced governor appointments on March 29, and one of them included a new member to the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council. Suzanne Baird was appointed and started the position April 3.
Her term expires on January 4, 2027, and she’s filling Ashley Peters’ spot after she stepped down from the council and became a public affairs specialist for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Midwest Region headquarters.
