Warmer temperatures jumpstarted the 2024 sauger and walleye migration in Ohio, turning the engine over in early February. The catching got more serious in March. Anglers started finding the numbers – the tantalizing numbers they expected from a pre-spawn pot of gold.
Those numbers occur more predictably below an obstruction such as a dam. This is not the only place for sauger to gather, but a good one.
