Michigan’s Great Lakes Fishing Decree now in effect

Updated guidelines for co-management of fishery resources in parts of Michigan’s Great Lakes are now in effect for the next 24 years.
The new Great Lakes Fishing Decree was approved Aug. 24, 2023, by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. In the months since the decree’s signing, the state of Michigan and tribal governments have been preparing to implement the provisions of the document.

Registration for CMP National Matches at Ohio’s Camp Perry is now open

Registration for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) 2024 National Trophy Pistol and Rifle Matches is officially open.

Ohio teen scores a big double with whitetail, mule deer last fall

It was a Sweet Sixteenth birthday celebration in a deer way for Avery Semler.
The London, Ohio, teen harvested not one, but two trophy bucks last November – the month she legally became old enough to drive in Ohio. A veteran hunter since age 6, Semler and her two older sisters acquired their outdoor skills from their father, Eric Semler, who is the Madison County Sheriff’s Office’s chief deputy.
