Behind the scenes: Illinois DNR wildlife biologist Ross Albert has a diverse background of experience

Ross Albert, a district wildlife biologist with Illinois DNR in Brown, Morgan, Pike and Scott counties, attributes his career to the time he spent outdoors during his childhood. As is the case with many working in wildlife conservation, Ross Albert credits his inspiration to his early experiences.
Albert fondly recalls memories of a childhood spent in nature chasing frogs, catching snakes, practicing with his bow, and building forts in the woods near his childhood home. Additionally, Albert reflects on time spent with his father and grandfather as they taught him to hunt and fish.
