Backcountry Hunters & Anglers changes location of 2024 North American Rendezvous

Backcountry Hunters and Anglers today announced a change in venue for its 2024 North American Rendezvous. BHA is moving the event from the Minnesota State Fairgrounds to the Minneapolis Convention Center with the same dates, April 18-20.
Organizers told Outdoor News that policies at the State Fairgrounds prompted the change.

Wisconsin DNR seeks tips on illegal elk shootings in Jackson County from 2022 deer season

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources needs the public’s help in ongoing investigations into the illegal harvests of two cow elk in separate events in Jackson County during the 2022 gun deer season.
DNR staff received and responded to a mortality signal from a cow elk’s monitoring collar on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. The elk was found on private property near Whitney Road in the town of Knapp. DNR staff received a second mortality signal from another cow elk’s monitoring collar on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022.

West Virginia angler catches state record with near 70-pound blue catfish

Angler Michael John Drake has left his mark on West Virginia’s fishing history by securing the state’s record blue catfish with a remarkable catch in December 2023. Drake’s solo fishing expedition near Gallipollis yielded a blue catfish weighing an impressive 69.45 pounds, surpassing the previous state record by more than 2 pounds.
