Scrambling to fill the freezer? Here are three ways to get one more deer before year’s end

Hunters tend to focus on finding bucks for most of the season, but the last couple of weeks of December are all about the does. Locating one more deer for the freezer means it’s time to do some scouting to find out where the ladies are staging, slaking their thirst, or dining on some leftovers. (Contributed photo)

This is the down-to-the-wire time when a lot of hunters gaze into their chest freezers and realize that it wouldn’t be so bad to go into the new year with some more venison.
