There are good numbers of bass 15 inches and less at Wolf Run, with a small number reaching 19 to 21 inches. It is a clear, deep, steep-sided lake and can be a challenge to fish.
The fishing outlook for northeast Ohio’s steelhead streams is excellent right now. The Rocky and Chagrin rivers, as well as the Cuyahoga, were giving up their share of steelhead.
Nearly 5% of this game land is hardwood bog-like swamp habitat, so waterfowl and woodcock provide some excellent hunting opportunities.
Unseasonably warm weather in early January thawed ice on all Pennsylvania lakes, and these reports are all about open-water fishing, mostly for panfish and bass. However, a recent spate of frigid days and nights seemed poised to put safe ice on northern lakes at least.
