A pictorial parade: 2019 Minnesota Outdoor News Deer and Turkey Classic

The headliners were big news heading into the 2019 Minnesota Outdoor News Deer and Turkey Classic, and they didn’t disappoint.

Television host Tom Miranda of Adventure Bowhunter was the headliner at the show, March 8-10 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. But with fellow hunting celebrities Melissa Bachman (Winchester Deadly Passion) and Laramy “Sasquatch” Miller (Sasquatch Mountain Man) serving as the Stage A and Stage B sponsor, respectively, a host of hunting pros/celebrities leading nonstop seminars on both stages, and Pat and Nicole Reeve, hosts of Driven TV, among the “Featured Attractions,” the Classic was a who’s who of A-list hunting and outdoors personalities.

Radio and TV journalists Mike Max, Neil Freeman, Bret Amundson and The 4 Outdoorsmen also made appearances. And there was plenty to keep attendees young and old(er) occupied, from the trout pond to the fast-growing Junior Pro Team for kids and the aforementioned seminars and exhibitors galore for adults.

Oh, and all those big buck racks.

Hunters could get their antlers scored – and then added to the Trophy Display Wall sponsored by Muddy, a crowd favorite – and there were a number of new additions to the Minnesota Legends Wall, which also drew a crowd throughout the weekend. And for those interested in wild turkeys, there was plenty to see (and hear, as in turkey calls that echoed through the halls of Warner Coliseum throughout the weekend). And for bear hunters, the state record black bear and what’s thought to be the only archery black bear grand slam were there for all to see, too.

Yup, something for everyone.
